   "Blackout" is a song written and recorded by David Bowie in for the album "Heroes". Author Nicholas Pegg described the track as "typical of the darkly exhilarating sonic schizophrenia of the "Heroes" album”, while biographer David Buckley remarked on "a backing verging on industrial".. Regarding its lyrics and subject matter, Bowie himself said in that the song "did indeed refer to Genre: Art rock.

   May 16,  · In a not entirely unexpected move, Parlophone will issue David Bowie‘s Welcome To the Blackout (Live London ’78) as a two-CD set in June. This live album was taken from performances in London in June/July on Bowie’s Isolar II tour and was mixed by Bowie and David Richards a month after the tour ended, in January The recordings were unreleased until Record Store Day .
